Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

Acuren and its affiliate entities are leading providers of wind turbine rotor blade inspection, repair, and related services in North America. Using rope access technology and inspection expertise, we offer comprehensive solutions for the wind industry.

Position Details:

Acuren Wind Canada Inc. is seeking experienced traveling IRATA Level I Wind Technicians to support projects across Canada for the 2025 season!

Responsibilities
  • Inspect wind turbine blades and ensure repairs meet company standards.
  • Work safely with team members and document inspection and repair findings.
  • Develop techniques for inspecting objects, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria based on standards and evaluate results.
  • Work at heights over 300 feet using rope access or suspended platforms, often in confined spaces and remote locations with varying climates.
  • Be flexible to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
  • Possess knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
  • Demonstrate skills required for Rope Access Technicians.
  • Ensure safety and proper operation of all equipment.
  • May instruct and supervise others.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by operations.
Requirements
  • Certifications: IRATA or SPRAT preferred; GWO preferred or willing to obtain.
  • Experience: 0–1 year in the wind industry; experience with various turbine platforms is a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma required; Technical Wind Certification preferred.
  • Licensing & Training: Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract; certifications in Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and CPR are assets.
  • Work Environment & Availability:
    • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations across Canada.
    • Availability for overtime and rotating shifts.
    • Comfort in adverse weather and physically demanding conditions.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Climb up to 100m (330 ft), carrying up to 15kg (30 lbs).
    • Lift up to 25kg (50 lbs), occasionally up to 35kg (75 lbs).
    • Full range of motion for bending, kneeling, climbing, and squatting.
    • Dexterity for handling tools and working on complex components.
    • Comfort at heights, on slippery terrain, and in confined spaces.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Pass drug and alcohol testing.
    • Comply with pandemic-related policies.
    • Strong communication skills in English.
    • Work effectively in diverse teams.

Working Conditions
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • 6 weeks on / 1 week off rotation.
  • Start as soon as possible.
  • Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) to various sites across Canada; 100% travel required.
  • Work in remote outdoor environments, often in challenging weather.
  • Flexible schedule with extended shifts, overtime, and weekend work as needed.
