Wills and Estates Litigation Law Clerk (Hybrid)

Job description

Our client, a leading multi-service firm, is currently seeking a seasoned Wills & Estates Law Clerk with 5 years of estate litigation experience to join their Wills & Estates Group in Barrie.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing and reviewing applications for Certificates of Appointment, distribution plans, releases, reports, Estate Accounts, and Wills & Powers of Attorney.
  2. Preparing and managing client files.
  3. Submitting probate applications to the court.
  4. Maintaining records for distribution preparation.
  5. Staying updated on changes in legislation and government policies.
  6. Booking and attending appointments with estates litigation counsel.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  1. A diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program certified by The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
  2. A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in estates litigation, planning, and administration.
  3. Excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  4. Familiarity with Estateably and/or Windup/Emergent programs.
  5. Experience with real estate will be considered an asset.
