Job summary

WSP seeks a Wildlife Group Manager to lead our Prairies & North Wildlife team, delivering science-based solutions across infrastructure, mining, energy and environmental projects. Based in Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina or Winnipeg), you will shape strategy, strengthen team performance, and grow wildlife services across the region.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, including leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and assessment frameworks across Western and Northern Canada.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships and support business development.
• Demonstrated leadership to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence at all levels.
• Commitment to technical excellence, including proposal development and report writing.
• Professional designation or eligibility to obtain registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a high-performing team of wildlife professionals, including prioritization, workload management, and successful project delivery.
• Champion people leadership, mentorship, career development, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement.
• Partner with the Director to drive operational and financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with other Group Managers and leaders to optimize resources and deliver multidisciplinary solutions for clients.
• Promote collaboration across regions while upholding WSP policies and guiding principles.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment with a strong health and safety commitment.
• Contribute to business growth via team leadership, client relationships, business development, and strategic planning.
• Provide guidance and strategic direction on wildlife and environmental projects.
