Description

We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Wildlife Biologist in our Saskatoon office. We are looking for a dynamic individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to take the next step in their career. If you enjoy working with multi-disciplinary technical teams, influencing team growth and direction, and have demonstrated capabilities in leading environmental assessments and terrestrial ecosystem evaluations, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing field inventory programs (e.g., vegetation, wildlife, habitat characterization) and evaluating impacts on terrestrial ecosystems.
  2. Managing projects, leading project teams, and responding to client requests.
  3. Leading and completing environmental assessments, including impact assessments, environmental evaluations, and navigating regulatory approval processes.
  4. Preparing technical reports, proposals, and design briefs.
  5. Delivering presentations on project outcomes internally and to clients and regulators.
  6. Collaborating with a team of environmental scientists and engineers.

Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant science field.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience managing multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Professional registration or eligibility (e.g., P.Ag., P.Biol.).
  • Knowledge of provincial wildlife and species inventory regulations.
  • Strong wildlife identification skills, especially birds (visual and auditory).
  • Experience with surveys of invertebrates, amphibians, mammals, and species at risk is an asset.
  • GIS skills are considered an asset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a team environment.
  • Project and budget management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and supervise team members.
  • Willingness to travel for short periods.
  • Valid driver’s license.
