Job summary

The Wilde School Blue Mountains is seeking a Summer Camp Instructor and Outdoor Educator to lead outdoor learning experiences for campers aged 4 to 17 in the Blue Mountains region. You will design and deliver engaging activities, ensuring safety and strong communication with families and the Camp Director.

Responsibilities include planning outdoor programming, guiding groups, and coordinating with staff to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about outdoor / experiential learning and outdoor education.
  • Creative, energetic and fun characteristics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and pragmatic skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good initiative and ability to see what needs to be completed.
  • Team Player.
  • Wilderness First-aid is an asset.
  • Experience in backcountry guiding and tripping an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of programming based on the daily/weekly thematic.
  • Planning and facilitating programming for groups based in outdoor skills.
  • Leading groups of campers through various activities.
  • Continuous communication with the Camp Director.
  • Maintain client communication and rapport by greeting families in the parking lot at the start and end of each day, as well as communicate via phone, or text where required.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants and staff by following policies and procedures.
