Job summary

Caliper Print & Signage Solutions in Richmond, BC, seeks a qualified Wide Format Print & Finishing Specialist with experience operating and maintaining advanced printing equipment. The role requires keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate HP wide-format printers using ONYX RIP (R2000/R700), run a Matic Chronos banner sewing machine, and a Multicam Celero CNC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a print shop.
• Experience with large format printing and signage production.
• Familiarity with RIP software and design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Operate HP wide-format printers with ONYX RIP software (R2000/R700).
• Operate Matic Chronos Banner Sewing machine.

• Apply adhesive vinyl to substrates.
• Maintain print equipment and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Digital Print Operator to join our dynamic team.

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Wide Format Print & Finishing Specialist with experience in operating and maintaining our advanced printing machinery. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Must Have

• Eligibility to work in Canada: Must have the legal right to work in Canada, such as a valid work permit or permanent residency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the HP wide-format printers with ONYX RIP software including the R2000 and R700 printers.
• Operate the Matic Chronos Banner Sewing machine.
• Operate Multicam Celero 4x10 CNC.
• Apply adhesive vinyl to various substrates.
• Maintain print equipment and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and load print files, ensuring accurate color and print quality.
• Monitor print jobs for quality and consistency.
• Follow print schedules and ensure timely completion of jobs.
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure project specifications are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to handle and manipulate print media and substrates.
• Good vision and attention to detail.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in operating HP R2000 Latex Printer, HP 700 Latex Printer, Multicam Celero 4x10 CNC, and Rolls Roller Applicator.
• Strong understanding of digital printing processes and color management.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on printing equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a print shop.

Education
