The Wide Format Operator plays a critical role in the Printing Services Blink Print satellite operation, working both independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities in a high‑pressure environment. This position requires the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the public, demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment in person and over the phone. The Wide Format Operator must possess strong clerical and organizational skills, extensive knowledge of diverse printing and sign processes, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud to prepare files for production.
Reporting to the Manager, Printing Services, the Wide Format Operator Assistant is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the Blink satellite wide format print shop located in the University Bookstore, operating with minimal oversight. Core responsibilities include producing high‑quality wide format printing for the University community and the public using specialty printing, laminating, and plotting equipment, as well as managing projects through industry‑standard MIS software.
This role requires a minimum of three (3) years of recent wide format experience in a print‑oriented customer service, or similar setting, preferably in a post‑secondary or institutional environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
