Job summary

Guelph Community Health Centre is seeking a Wholesale Lead to manage warehouse, inventory, and distribution for The SEED's wholesale operations. You will oversee receiving, inventory accuracy, food quality, and volunteer support to ensure timely, safe, and compliant order fulfillment.

The role requires coordinating deliveries, maintaining FIFO practices, and supervising volunteers while working with drivers and staff to sustain uninterrupted service in a not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, food distribution, or related environment.
• Experience coordinating volunteers, staff, or teams is an asset.
• Experience with food distribution programs or not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to drive organizational vehicles when required.
• Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain within three months of hire.
• Forklift certification is an asset.
• Ability to prioritize multiple operational responsibilities.
• Experience with inventory tracking and order fulfillment processes.
• Ability to lead and support volunteers effectively.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse duties.

Position Summary

The Wholesale Lead is responsible for leading and supporting key warehouse, inventory, and distribution functions within The SEED's wholesale operations. This position provides leadership in receiving, inventory management, food quality control, warehouse organization, surplus order fulfillment, and distribution activities while working closely with staff, volunteers, suppliers, and drivers.

The role ensures products are received accurately, inventory is maintained, food quality standards are met, the warehouse remains clean and organized, and wholesale orders are prepared and distributed efficiently and accurately. The Wholesale Lead serves as a primary point of accountability for warehouse readiness, inventory accuracy, food quality and volunteer support.

Main Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse activities related to receiving, storage, inventory, and distribution
• Ensure proper product storage and FIFO practices
• Support efficient loading and departure of delivery vehicles
• Maintain warehouse standards that support food/ general safety and operational efficiency
• Conduct inventory counts and stock verification
• Identify, document, and remove expired, damaged, or unsuitable products
• Communicate inventory shortages and replenishment needs
• Support route readiness and delivery operations
• Provide coverage for driver absences when required
• Support route planning and operational adjustments to ensure uninterrupted service
• Lead order picking and order preparation activities
• Ensure route documentation is complete and accurate
• Lead and support volunteer groups and individual volunteers
• Provide direction and training related to warehouse tasks and food handling practices
• Foster a positive and productive volunteer experience

Key Qualifications and Skills
