Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Field Engineer to support a Whitby-based GO Transit infrastructure project. You will coordinate civil construction activities with project management, construction crews, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3–6 years’ heavy civil experience. You will review drawings, manage RFIs and shop drawings, assist with work packages, inspections, HSE, procurement, and closeout

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil/Construction Eng or related field.
• 3–6 years on heavy civil, transportation, transit, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with foundations, piling, reinforced concrete, precast, earthworks.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, submittals, and contract documents.
• Proficient with MS Office; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain project systems and best practices.
• Coordinate civil construction activities per drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, redlines, and design revisions.
• Develop and execute work packages; resolve progress constraints.
• Conduct field inspections to verify quality and drawings compliance.
• Support HSE program through site inspections and safety meetings.
• Assist subcontractor management, including contract administration and progress tracking.
• Monitor schedules and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate procurement activities and vendor communications.
• Maintain field records, daily reports, and as-built documentation.
• Support project closeout and turnover documentation.
