Job summary

Ledcor in Whitby, Ontario is seeking an aspiring Assistant Project Manager to oversee the structural scope of a GO Transit project, bringing civil construction experience to our live rail corridor teams.

You will lead safety, schedule, procurement, and design reviews, collaborate with stakeholders, and help keep projects on time and within budget. A post-secondary civil engineering education and Canadian GC experience are required; P.Eng is an asset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil construction experience on large infrastructure projects.
• Post-secondary education in civil engineering or related field.
• Rail transit experience in live corridors, highways, bridges, roads, grading.
• Experience with a General Contractor in Canada.
• P.Eng license in Ontario is an asset.
• Experience with Design-Build or Collaborative contracts is an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel; Primavera preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project.
• Implement the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to ensure HS&E compliance.
• Develop and maintain the construction schedule with the project team.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and manage opportunities and risks to meet schedule and financial targets.
• Manage procurement including subcontractor negotiations and awards.
• Ensure quality of materials and workmanship meet standards.
• Maintain and track billings, reports and projections within financial targets.
• Review design and construction documents for constructability and value engineering and provide feedback to client.
