Job summary

Martinrea International in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Welding team lead to promote a high‑performance safety culture, lead the production of quality parts, and ensure efficiency targets are met by maintaining equipment daily.

You will supervise Welding Associates, apply problem solving tools, and ensure compliance with IATF16949, ISO14001 and ISO45001. Strong PLC and electrical troubleshooting skills with MIG/spot welding experience are essential.

Qualifications

Must read and write English.
Post-secondary Electro-Mechanical Technician diploma preferred.
1–3 years of experience in a similar production role.
Ability to lead a team and work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting of low voltage (<30 V), spot and MIG welding, PLC programming (Allen Bradley required; OMRON an asset).
Knowledge of production and quality systems including IATF16949 / ISO14001 & ISO45001 preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment including weld controllers, robotics, and PLCs.
Changeover or assist with changeover of equipment and tooling to run different jobs.
Modify robot, peripheral processes and welding programs as required.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
Ensure robot and PLC programs maintain or improve part quality.
Adjust welding schedules and consumables for efficiency and quality.
Mentor junior technicians on 1x1 problem solving.
Lead a team of Welding Associates and drive 5S and safety initiatives.
