Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure that all machines at Rollstar Metal Forming are maintained and operating safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, precise diagnostics, and minimal downtime in a high-volume shop environment. You will read blueprints and manuals, perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and coordinate with maintenance and production teams.

Qualifications

• Provincial Certification Red Seal 433A required.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in similar position.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with presses preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Own tools and toolbox.
• Holding dual tickets is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose root causes of issues in equipment. Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end.
• Physically maintain machines and equipment.
• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
• Ensure preventative maintenance program are done based on assigned schedules.
• Maintain company tools as required to fulfil duties.
• Trouble shooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting.
• Work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required.
• Provide training as required.
• Complete routine paperwork as required.
• Support daily production requirements.
• Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds.

Education, Experience and Skills:

• Provincial Certification Red Seal 433A required
• Minimum five (5) years experience in similar position
• Must be able to read, write and speak English with good written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures
• Experience of working with presses preferred
• Knowledge of machine rigging procedures
• Basic knowledge of machining and welding - tig, mig and stick welding
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications and manuals
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools and industrial maintenance equipment
• Possess own tools and toolbox
• Holding dual tickets is an asset
