A leading manufacturer in the Kitchener area is seeking a Welding Process Improvement Engineer. This permanent full-time role focuses on enhancing welding processes and production efficiency. Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-built metal fabricated parts and has an opening for a Welding Process Improvement Engineer / Welding Lean Six Sigma Engineer in the St. Mary’s - Kitchener - Cambridge, ON area. Candidates should have experience in metal fabrication process improvement, customized production line setup, capacity planning, line modification, and equipment relocation to accommodate new projects on the manufacturing floor.
The Welding Manufacturing Engineer role involves working closely with Production and Engineering teams to enhance floor capacity for various sizes, tolerances, and customized fabrication jobs. Responsibilities include capacity planning, equipment relocation, process flow mapping, and supporting New Product Development. The role also focuses on improving welding processes, SOPs, best practices, and safety standards.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in welding process improvement, leading continuous improvement projects, line balancing, and experience with Lean methodologies in welding procedures. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, EIT, or a Diploma as a Welding Technologist is highly preferred. Proven experience in welding process enhancement, including bending, cutting, forming, and welding procedure documentation, is essential. Excellent English communication skills are a must. A clear criminal check is required.
