Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in Ontario is seeking a hands-on Welding Supervisor to lead the welding team, assign priorities, and ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard of quality.

You will read engineered drawings, fabricate and repair structures, mentor apprentices, coordinate labour, materials and timelines, and promote a strong safety culture across field and shop environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive welding/fabrication experience with lead or supervisory roles.
• Ability to read engineered drawings and interpret welding specifications.
• Certifications in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW are assets; CW&B stick cert is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving, safety focus, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Supervise welding team, assign work, and monitor progress for safety and quality.
• Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and technical guidance.
• Read drawings and ensure work aligns with specs and standards.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, labor, and timelines.
• Support safety culture and training of welders and apprentices.
• Work outdoors in variable weather and on customer sites as needed.
