Job summary

Northern Strands Group of Companies is seeking a Welder Lead Hand to delegate tasks, interpret blueprints, and safely operate welding equipment to meet production goals. Must pass pre-employment drug test; Saskatchewan-based company with growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include fabrication, machine operation, inspections, and team leadership. Travel to sites may be required; strong English communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
Valid CWB welding certification, GMAW and SMAW, certified in all positions.
Minimum of one (1) year experience welding in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
Operate welding equipment (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW) to fuse metal segments.
Operate flame-cutting equipment.
Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping machines.
Perform repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
Maintain knowledge of technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
