Job Title: Welding Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer - MIG/TIG

Company: Custom Metal Fabrication & Welding (ASME, CWB)

Responsibilities include welding, cutting, machining, forming, and writing welding instructions.

Location: Kitchener - St. Mary’s - Stratford, ON area

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 base; benefits

Employment Type: Permanent, full-time, on-site at manufacturing facility, 5 days a week

Our client, a leading manufacturer of custom-built metal fabricated parts, is seeking a Welding Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer in the Kitchener - St. Mary’s - Stratford, ON area. Candidates should be specialists in welding processes and instruction writing, familiar with codes, standards, NDT, and CWB GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW processes.

The role involves working closely with production and engineering teams to improve welding job orders, write and revise welding instructions, SOPs, and ensure safety compliance. The engineer will oversee welding procedures under ASME, ISO, and other regulations, provide technical guidance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Experience with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, robotic welding, and other welding types is essential. The role does not involve leadership responsibilities but requires mentoring welders and improving welding procedures.

Minimum qualifications include at least 5 years of experience in welding process improvement, instruction writing, and process engineering, with proven ability to conduct RCA and suggest corrective actions. A diploma as a Welding Technologist, degree in Welding Engineering, or similar is highly preferred. CWB Level 2 certification is highly desirable. Excellent English communication skills are a must.
