Job summary

West End Radiators in Winnipeg, MB, is seeking a skilled Welder to join our radiator manufacturing team. You will perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum, read blueprints, and ensure high-strength, leak-free products in a fast-paced shop.

You will operate welding equipment, use fabrication tools, fit and braze parts, and follow strict safety protocols. Growth-minded team player with lease long-term commitment is preferred and a strong emphasis on quality and improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Welding certification from a recognized institution is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding (steel and aluminum).
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols.
  • Experience in operating fabrication tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret welding process specifications and blueprints.
  • Operate welding equipment (manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated).
  • Use flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping tools.
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components.
  • Operate drill presses and arc-air (AOC) cutting tools.
  • Select appropriate filler rods and perform post-weld heat treatment.
  • Prepare jigs and setups for welding tasks.
  • Follow safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
  • Contribute to safe and efficient work environment with continuous improvement.

The Welder Position

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Welder to join our radiator manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the fabrication and repair of high-performance products by performing MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum. You will work in a fast-paced industrial environment and play a key role in ensuring our products meet strength, quality, and leak‑free performance standards. If you are passionate about welding, pay attention to detail, and enjoy working with a close‑knitted team, we’d like to meet you.

What You Will Do

Qualified Candidates Will Possess The Following Skills/qualities
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Welding certification from a recognized institution is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding (steel and aluminum).
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols.
  • Experience in operating fabrication tools and equipment.
  • May be required to attend customer workplaces (driver’s license is an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S practices is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible, proactive, and willing to take on additional tasks as needed.
