Job summary

A global manufacturer of truck trailers in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a skilled Welder. The position involves performing MIG and/or TIG welding on various steel and aluminum components, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring quality standards. The ideal candidate will have proven welding experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing, and should possess a high school diploma with technical training being a plus. This role offers competitive pay up to $25/hr depending on experience, within a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in heavy manufacturing or trailer production.
  • Proficiency with MIG welding processes; experience with aluminum is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Job description

Our client is a global manufacturer of truck trailers.

Working hours: 7:30am-6pm, Mon.-Thurs.

Wage: Up to $25/hr depending on the working expeirence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on various gauges of steel and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine welding specifications.
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble parts to build trailer frames, sides, roofs, and doors.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as jibs, hoists, and forklifts to position materials (certification a plus).
  • Conduct quality checks on finished welds to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other general duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Welder, preferably in heavy manufacturing, automotive, or trailer production.
  • Proficiency with MIG welding processes is required; experience with aluminum is a significant plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Capable of frequently lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and kneeling.
