Job summary

Genfabco in Summerstown, ON is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our team. The role focuses on fitting and welding stainless steels, titanium, and zirconium, reading blueprints, setting up machines, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work collaboratively to maximize productivity while handling materials up to 50 lbs and repairing worn parts by welding extra layers. The position is full-time permanent with a minimum 32 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Three years of TIG welding experience required.
• Stainless steel is the minimum; titanium or zirconium is highly preferred.
• Experience with all welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld stainless steels, titanium and zirconium parts, primarily TIG.
• Set up welding machines per job or Welding Procedure Specification.
• Read blueprints/drawings to determine welding requirements.
• Weld a variety of materials and equipment as per drawings/specs.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Assemble items as instructed by supervisor or drawings.
• Keep work areas clean and protect equipment and facilities.
• Maintain attention to detail and focus on tasks.
• Collaborate with others to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Lift materials up to 50 lbs manually or with a hoist.
• Repair worn parts by welding additional layers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for fitting and welding of stainless steels, titanium and zirconium parts using any welding process, primarily TIG.


• Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification


• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements


• Use any welding process to weld a variety of materials and equipment based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings


• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards set forth by the company


• Assemble items as instructed by a supervisor, blueprints and/or drawings


• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities


• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task


• Work with others to maximize productivity and efficiency


• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 lbs), or using a hoist


• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers

Qualifications:

• High school degree or trade school required


• At least 3 years of TIG welding experience is required
