Job summary

Weir Group in Calgary seeks a Journeyman Welder to join our on-site team, performing pump disassembly, evaluation and repair, with a focus on alignment and assembly tasks.

You will apply MIG, TIG, and stick welding to repair and build up pump parts, enabling remachining and fabrication as needed, while maintaining a strong safety culture. Expect collaboration with a skilled, safety-minded workforce on challenging, real-world projects.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Welder license (Alberta or Red Seal) required.
  • 4+ years welding experience in MIG, TIG, and stick.
  • 1-2 years millwrighting experience, ideally Journeyman Millwright or Millwright Apprentice.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork in an industrial shop environment.
  • Nice-to-haves: pump repair experience, Hazleton/Warman/Multiflow familiarity, mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

  • Millwright support: disassembly, evaluation, and repair of pumps, alignment and assembly tasks.
  • Welding operations: MIG, TIG, and stick welding to repair and build up pump parts and remachining as needed.

You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.What you’ll doMillwright Support: Perform disassembly, evaluation, and repair of pumps, alignment and assembly tasks on pumps such as Hazleton, Warman, and Multiflow models.• Welding Operations: Apply MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques daily to repair and build up pump parts, ensuring quality and durability.
