Job summary

Weir Canada, Inc. in Calgary is seeking a Journeyman Welder for on-site shifts 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on pump repair, disassembly, evaluation and assembly, using MIG, TIG and stick welding to rebuild pump components.

You will join a safety‑driven team, with 4+ years welding experience and millwrighting exposure. On-site operations require strong teamwork and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Welder license (Alberta or Red Seal) required.
  • 1-2 years of millwrighting experience preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork in an industrial shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembly, evaluation and repair of pumps and components.
  • Apply MIG, TIG and stick welding to repair and build pump parts.
  • Maintain safety standards and zero harm culture in all tasks.

What you'll do
  • Millwright Support: Perform disassembly, evaluation, and repair of pumps, alignment and assembly tasks on pumps such as Hazleton, Warman, and Multiflow models.
  • Welding Operations: Apply MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques daily to repair and build up pump parts, ensuring quality and durability. Tasks include welding build-up on pump components to enable remachining and fabricating as needed, primarily focusing on rebuilding tasks.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you'll bring
  • Journeyman Welder license (Alberta or Red Seal) with at least 4 years of welding experience in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • 1-2 years of millwrighting experience, ideally as a Journeyman Millwright or Millwright Apprentice.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork in an industrial shop environment.
Nice-to-haves
  • Experience working specifically on pump repair and assembly.
  • Familiarity with Hazleton, Warman, and Multiflow pump models.
  • Previous mentoring or training experience.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technical challenges and continuous learning.
