Job summary

Silent-Aire, a Johnson Controls company, is expanding its Edmonton manufacturing teams and seeking a Welder Apprentice. You will support fabrication of prototypes, jigs and production components, following approved welding procedures and parameters.

Under supervision, you’ll perform welding tasks with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and SMAW, contribute to continuous improvement, and gain hands-on experience while pursuing Journeyperson certification in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be registered as an Apprentice Welder with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
• Minimum 500 hours welding experience is an asset.
• Ability to obtain Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certifications is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and welding symbols under supervision.
• Set up and operate welding equipment to join metal components per procedures.
• Perform basic cutting operations and assist with fabrication tasks.
• Maintain quality checks and ensure work aligns with drawings and specs.
• Follow safety policies and 5S program within the shop.
