Job description

Job Title: Welder

Job Description

Join our team as a welder, where you will be working primarily on aluminum and galvanized steel enclosures for a variety of projects. Your role will involve 30% MIG welding and 70% TIG welding, with occasional stud welding as needed. You will be tasked with creating enclosures from sheet metal for diverse projects, using gantry cranes and forklifts to manage materials. This position involves non-structural welding with light to medium gauges and heavy lifting of components. You will work on various types of enclosures, including EV charging stations, industrial planters, and electrical enclosures.

Work Environment

Work in a spacious and well-ventilated industrial shop with machines running throughout the day. The facility is clean and accommodates four welders during morning and afternoon shifts. The position offers a shift from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, with additional premiums for first aid certifications. Expect a wage increase, which is currently being negotiated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum and galvanized steel materials.
  • Work with sheet metal to create enclosures for various projects.
  • Operate gantry cranes and forklifts to handle materials.
  • Read and follow blueprints and drawings accurately.
  • Engage in metal finishing to ensure high-quality results.
  • Use computers and tablets to track orders and communicate with engineers.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience with aluminum.
  • Proficiency in all position welding.
  • Experience in Steel MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Skilled in pulse welding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • CWB tickets are a nice-to-have.
  • Welding schooling is beneficial.
  • Forklift and overhead crane tickets are advantageous.

Pay and Benefits
