Business Overview:

At Pride Bodies Ltd., we offer custom design and fabrication of utility, service, construction, and other custom truck bodies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices and become familiar with equipment (saw, drill press, iron worker, welding machine).
  2. Perform a wide variety of tasks that require stamina and eagerness to learn on the job.
  3. Understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline.
  4. Set up and maintain shop tools and equipment; learn to set up and maintain new tools and equipment as required.
  5. Use overhead and gantry cranes efficiently and safely, exhibiting safe rigging practices.
  6. Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work.
  7. Read tape measures correctly.
  8. Able to MIG (steel and aluminum) and manual plasma cut.
  9. Set up welding machines to weld different thicknesses of material.
  10. Ensure work is tacked, squared, and correct to the drawing before completing welds.
  11. Finish work to minimize cleanup: deburr/sand all sharp edges and clean welds.
  12. Manage work orders from start to finish with minimal assistance (aluminum and steel) in a timely manner.
  13. Document material usage and scrap correctly.
  14. Stack parts for easy access for the next operation and label both parts and skids/containers correctly.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Stamina and strength for manual labor.
  • Certified or willing to obtain CWB certification in aluminum and steel.
  • Ability to interpret welding symbols.
  • Quick learner and able to progress at a reasonable pace.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and take corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and engineering teams to prototype new designs.
  • Team-focused and task-oriented.
  • Proactive in suggesting and implementing continuous improvements.
  • No relocation assistance provided for this position.
