Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in Victoria, BC is seeking an Overnight Weekend Caregiver (HCA) to deliver compassionate in-home care. You will provide homemaking, personal care, companionship, and support to clients on Saturdays and Sundays, following a personalized care plan.

The role emphasizes safety, dignity, and high-quality care, requiring English communication, physical ability to assist with mobility, and adherence to infection prevention practices.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program (Registered HCA program).
• Strong knowledge of the principles of caregiving as well as customer service.
• Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English; French proficiency will be deemed an asset
• Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of practices for community care
• Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs., squat, bend, stand and reach
• Reliable mode of transportation; driver's license and automobile considered as an asset
• Able to produce a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check

Responsibilities

• 24 hour weekend care: from Saturdays 9:00am until Sundays 9:00am required
• Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management
• Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events
• Administer personal care services in accordance with the care plan directives
• Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, tailored to meet their specific needs
• Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency
• Observe and document client conditions in line with company standards; promptly report any unusual events or changes in client condition to the Supervisor or Office
• Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices
