Job summary

Save the Children Canada is seeking a Website Coordinator to manage and optimize the organization's website, ensuring accurate, accessible, and engaging content aligned with our brand. You will work with brand, communications, fundraising, IT, operations, and external vendors to deliver an exceptional user experience and support digital campaigns.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Development, or a related field, plus 1–3 years of CMS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web Development, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience managing websites or digital content.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, AEM).
  • Experience using web analytics platforms (Google Analytics).
  • Knowledge of SEO, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user experience principles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities across diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Save the Children's website for day-to-day content updates.
  • Create, edit, format, and publish web pages and multimedia content.
  • Ensure content accuracy, brand alignment, and regular content audits.
  • Collaborate with brand, communications, fundraising, IT, and vendors to improve UX.
  • Monitor analytics, support CRO initiatives, and implement SEO best practices.
  • Ensure accessibility standards and optimized navigation and content structure.

The Impact You Will Make

Reporting to the Manager, Web and Digital Optimization, the Website Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of the Save the Children's website. This role ensures content is accurate, accessible, engaging, and aligned with organizational goals. The Website Coordinator works closely with brand, communications, fundraising, IT, operations, and external vendors to deliver an exceptional user experience, support digital campaigns, and continuously improve website performance.

Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
Website Content Management
  • Maintain and update website content using a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Create, edit, format, and publish web pages, landing pages, and multimedia content.
  • Ensure website content is accurate, current, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Coordinate content production, reviews and approvals with internal key contacts.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify outdated, broken, or duplicate content.
Website Optimization & User Experience
  • Monitor website performance and user behavior using analytics tools.
  • Support conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives through A/B testing and user experience improvements.
  • Implement SEO best practices, including metadata, keyword optimization, internal linking, and content structure.
  • Recommend improvements to navigation, page layouts, and content organization to enhance usability and engagement.
  • Ensure websites meet accessibility standards and best practices.
Qualifications Include (but Are Not Limited To)
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Web
  • Development, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience managing websites or digital content.
  • Experience in International Development, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO/INGO), or other not-for-profit sectors is preferred.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager).
  • Experience using web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of SEO, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user experience principles.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences to build strong working relationships across cultural and organizational settings, both internally and externally. French/Spanish/Arabic language skills is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management experience for task execution of assigned objectives supported by proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines to achieve SCC objectives.
  • Displays analytical and problem-solving skills to support initiatives with demonstrated adaptability to support change management for successful task implementation.
  • Applies judgment and make sound decisions that are accountable, justifiable, and in adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Considers organizational strategy and thinks creatively to support innovative initiatives and collaborations that deliver benefits for the children and families we serve.
  • Ability to occasionally travel locally, nationally and internationally (less than 10%) as required.
What We Offer

The salary range for this position is union pay band 4 between$55,581.56 to $71,985.83 CAD depending on skills and experience. In addition to this, our employees will have the following package of additional benefits:
