Air Canada is seeking a Web Developer - User Interface to join our Digital Solutions Development team in Canada. This role will be located in Montreal or Toronto and report to the Manager - Digital Solutions Development.

You will contribute to building and maintaining web and mobile interfaces using Angular, React, and related tech. The candidate should be autonomous, motivated, and adept at collaborating with agile teams to deliver high-quality, scalable front-end solutions that meet customer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least four years of experience in web application development.
  • Experience with Angular and React web application frameworks.
  • Implementation of complex front-end logic using RxJS for reactive programming.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
  • Use of NgRx Store for state management to ensure scalable and sustainable code.
  • Skills in development within an Agile environment.
  • Experience in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs essential to operations.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (PaaS).
  • Familiarity with Webpack/Babel/Parcel tooling.
  • Ability to analyze problems logically and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to adapt to new methods and own results.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices and standards.

The successful candidate for the Web Developer - User Interface position will report to the Manager - Digital Solutions Development.

This position could be located in Montreal or Toronto.

Responsibilities
  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Develop user interfaces using Angular, ensuring responsiveness, accessibility, and optimal performance.
  • Deep mastery of TypeScript and fundamental Angular concepts (components, modules and standalone components, directives, services, dependency injection, lifecycle hooks).
  • Hands-on experience with RxJS for reactive programming (observables, subjects, operators, error handling, subscription management).
  • Solid experience with NgRx Store for scalable state management (actions, reducers, effects, selectors, entity models).
  • Implement complex front-end logic using RxJS and NgRx in the delivery of enterprise-grade Angular applications.
  • Good understanding of Angular application architecture patterns, routing, lazy loading, guards, interceptors, and reusable component design.
  • Develop and maintain reliable forms using reactive forms with synchronous or asynchronous validations.
  • Knowledge of front-end design tools and processes (Angular CLI, Webpack, Babel, or similar tools).
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests for Angular applications (Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Cypress, or equivalent).
  • Stay abreast of best practices in emerging front-end technologies and foster their adoption where appropriate.

  • Good command of front-end design tools like Webpack, Babel, or Parcel.
  • Ease of network traffic analysis using Fiddler, Postman, Wireshark, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in constantly evolving environments.
  • Demonstrated openness and willingness to adapt to new work methods.
  • Willingness to take ownership of results and actively participate in defining the company's future direction.
  • Willingness to satisfy external and internal customers.
  • Ability to focus on accomplishing team or unit work, as well as setting ambitious goals and achieving or exceeding them.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively with other team members, in person.
  • Ability to analyze a problem logically, systematically, and sequentially.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
Assets
  • Certifications in core programming languages, cloud platforms, development and operations, and Agile methods. Experience in native module development (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java).
  • Proficiency in integration and delivery tools and mobile application deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with testing frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud services and backend integrations (Firebase, AWS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in security best practices in web and mobile applications.
