About The Role
We are looking for a talented WordPress Web Designer to join our team, either on a full-time basis or as a 40-hour/week contractor. This role is ideal for someone who combines creative vision with technical expertise and has a passion for building beautiful, high-performing websites. You will be at the forefront of crafting visually compelling, conversion-optimized WordPress sites that drive business results.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop responsive, visually appealing websites and landing pages using WordPress
2. Build and customize layouts using themes, page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery), and block editors
3. Apply expert-level design principles including layout, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy
4. Ensure accessibility and seamless functionality across all screen sizes and devices
5. Collaborate with SEO, content, and development teams to align on design strategy and performance goals
6. Continuously improve website UI/UX based on performance data and stakeholder feedback

Qualifications

1. Minimum 3 years of experience designing and building WordPress websites
2. Proficient in CSS for refining and implementing responsive designs
3. Strong grasp of UI/UX principles with a focus on user behavior and conversions
4. Experience creating effective landing pages and lead generation funnels
5. Comfortable with WordPress themes, plugins, page builders, and content structuring
6. Strong visual design skills and a sharp attention to detail
7. Excellent communication and project management capabilities

Preferred Skills

1. Experience designing front-end for Shopify, BigCommerce, or Magento
2. Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
3. Experience with WooCommerce and eCommerce UX design
4. Understanding of A/B testing and CRO tools
5. SEO best practices from a front-end design perspective
6. Based in Montreal is a plus
