Position Overview

Our mission at Autodesk Informed Design is to help companies embrace Industrialized Construction through the convergence of AEC and MFG. We seek a motivated Software QA Engineer to work within a cross-functional agile team.

You will validate the quality of cloud services and desktop applications, create and execute test plans, analyze results, develop automated tests for APIs, and collaborate with QA and support teams to ensure customer success.

This role can be based anywhere in Canada and is remote-friendly.

Responsibilities
  • Promote engineering excellence and integrate quality practices early in development
  • Own the quality of features within the connected environment
  • Document, manage, and prioritize defects from various sources
  • Collaborate for root cause analysis of customer issues
  • Monitor product development and usage to improve quality
  • Design testing strategies for complex systems, including API testing
  • Develop test plans for new features and participate in development cycles
  • Perform manual, exploratory, and automated testing across platforms
  • Conduct functional, performance, security, load, and other tests as applicable
  • Support production services and act as escalation point for incidents
  • Develop scalable automated API tests using appropriate tools
  • Mentor junior test engineers to improve quality standards
  • Evaluate testing tools and frameworks for efficiency
  • Create test harnesses supporting Web, Desktop, and API products
  • Work with teams to identify and prioritize testing strategies for automation and process improvements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience testing API, desktop, cloud, and web applications
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, test planning, mocking, debugging, and testing
  • Experience with software testing tools (TestRail, TestIM, Jira, etc.)
  • Ability to develop scalable automation frameworks with tools like Cypress or Playwright
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
  • Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and automation tools like Blazemeter
  • Self-motivated with ownership of service quality

Salary Transparency

Starting base salary in Canada-BC ranges from $79,500 to $116,600, depending on experience and location. Compensation includes bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.
