Job summary

Ontario Clean Water Agency in Ontario is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator to operate and maintain facilities in the Region. You will monitor processes, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires Class 1 certifications or willingness to attain them, ability to work overtime and on-call shifts, and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. OCWA offers pay for certification and on-call/OT pay.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills and problem solving for operating wastewater processes.
• Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance and interpret results.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Team player with initiative and manual labor capability.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater facilities within the Region.
• Respond to on-call rotations and overtime as required.
• Monitor systems, perform maintenance, and adjust processes to resolve issues.
• Interpret manuals/blueprints and ensure safe operation and compliance.
