Job summary

Border Paving Ltd. in Alberta is hiring a Water Truck Operator to support urban road construction projects, operating a tandem water truck for dust control, soil stabilization, grading and compaction.

You will collaborate with the crew to keep projects safe and on schedule throughout the season. Applicants should have a valid Class 3 license, be physically capable of manual labour, and able to complete on-site documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 Driver's Licence required; driver’s abstract reviewed prior to hire.
• Experience operating water trucks or hauling liquids is an asset.
• Strong safety awareness and site awareness.
• Ability to complete required documentation accurately.
• Physically capable of manual labour tasks.
• Safety-focused and able to work effectively as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain a tandem water truck, including loading and unloading
• Apply water for dust control and compaction based on site requirements
• Conduct pre trip inspections and maintain proper logs
• Actively participate in labour tasks including site preparation, material handling and clean up when truck operation is not required
• Follow all company safety procedures and participate in daily hazard assessments
• Work extended hours, overtime, weekends and out of town as required during the construction season (May - November)
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Water Truck Operator plays an important role in supporting our urban road construction projects by operating a tandem water truck for dust control, soil stabilization, grading support and compaction activities. Working with the crew, this position helps keep projects running safely and efficiently throughout the construction season. This role includes regular participation in general crew and labour duties throughout the day depending on project requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain a tandem water truck, including loading and unloading
• Apply water for dust control and compaction based on site requirements
