Job summary

The Town of Kamsack is inviting applications for a full-time permanent Water Treatment Plant Operator 2 in the Utilities Department. The role includes scheduled weekend work, call back, overtime and standby including nights, weekends and holidays, reporting to the Utilities Foreman.

The position involves operating the Class 2 Water Treatment Plant, distribution systems, lagoon and sewer lift stations, and maintaining records. Certification in water treatment and distribution is required.

Qualifications

• Water Treatment Class 2 certification required.
• Water Distribution Class 2 certification required.
• Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Class 2 Water Treatment Plant and well-pumping station, distribution system, lagoon and sewage lift station.
• Maintain appropriate records of water production, treatment, storage, instrumentation and control operations.
• Perform equipment maintenance and housekeeping; manage water connects/disconnects.
• Oversee all phases of wastewater collection, treatment and disposal.

• one full time permanent Water Treatment Plant Operator 2

This position requires scheduled weekend work, call back, overtime and standby including nights, weekends, and holidays.

This position reports to the Utilities Foreman and is responsible for operation of the Class 2 Water Treatment Plant and well-pumping station, distribution system, lagoon and sewage lift station. Operations include all phases of water production, treatment, storage, instrumentation and control operations, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, water connects and disconnects as well as maintaining appropriate office and production records. In addition, this position is responsible for all phases of wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal.

Qualifications:

• Water Treatment Class 2
• Water Distribution Class 2 Certification
• Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License

Salary Range:

As per CUPE Collective Agreement. Pay rates based on level of certification and experience
