Job summary

Stantec in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Graduate or Hydrologist to join our team. You will contribute to hydrologic and hydraulic projects within a dynamic design group and report to a Project Manager or Team Lead.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a drive for technical excellence; a valid G-class driver’s license is required to operate locally. 0–2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in an Engineering or Science program, with an emphasis on water resources and hydrology.
• 0-2 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in a consulting or regulatory environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with watershed characterization studies, flood plain mapping, environmental impact assessments, coastal and river engineering, and channel design projects.
• Assist with hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling.
• Conduct field investigations including water quality sampling, hydrometric measurements, data management and analysis.
• Assist with preparation of detailed design drawings.
• Development of work plans and cost estimates.
• Technical report preparation and writing.
• Working efficiently in a team environment.
• Perform tasks, as requested, efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques.
