Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Ontario to lead drainage design for transportation projects and perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. You will prepare design calculations, reports, and contract documents, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support permitting and project delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering, and a P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline.
• P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in water resources and drainage engineering for transportation projects.
• Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and drainage design using industry-standard software.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and coordinate multidisciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of Ontario regulatory, municipal, and transportation drainage standards.

Your role

• Lead and support the planning, analysis, and detailed design of drainage systems for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare drainage design calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Design and assess storm sewer networks, culverts, open channels, stormwater management facilities, and Low Impact Development (LID) measures.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling to support engineering assessments and design decisions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams while supporting permitting, regulatory submissions, and project delivery.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in water resources and drainage engineering, with a focus on transportation infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and drainage design using industry-standard software and engineering tools.
