Job summary

District of Saanich’s Engineering Department is seeking a Manager of Infrastructure Planning & Analysis to lead long-term planning, renewal, and performance analysis of water, sanitary sewer, and drainage systems.

The successful candidate will direct a team of engineers and technologists, supervise staff, engage with stakeholders, manage projects, and ensure compliance with bylaws, procurement, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC required.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive, related experience focused on water resources engineering.
• Demonstrated management and leadership experience, including supervising and coaching staff.
• Strong knowledge of municipal civil-infrastructure: water, sanitary sewer, and drainage systems; procurement and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills; stakeholder engagement essential.
• Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modelling; PMP certification valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-term planning, renewal prioritization, and performance analysis for water, sanitary, and drainage systems.
• Direct a technical team of engineers and technologists in asset management and master planning.
• Build relationships with staff, consultants, developers, external agencies, and community stakeholders.
