Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Winnipeg (with Calgary as another location) seeks a Civil Technologist to deliver water infrastructure designs and related assignments.

You will independently manage smaller tasks or support large multi-disciplinary projects, including sanitary, storm, and watermain design and rehabilitation. You will lead design efforts using Civil 3D, coordinate with project teams and sub-consultants, and help apply industry standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Technical diploma/certificate in Civil Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a consulting environment involved in the design of civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design of sanitary, storm, and watermain projects and overland flow / civil site plan design projects.
• Undertake technical tasks including completing design work, calculations on civil infrastructure projects involving sewer and watermain design and rehabilitation.
• Prepare design drawings using Civil 3D software.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, team members and sub-consultants.
• Act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members.
• Define construction methods and work area limits based on conveyance system elements.
• Coordinate with the team on construction activities and provide design guidance during construction.
• Develop strategies to minimize environmental and permitting impacts.
• Comply with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
