Job summary

On Side Restoration Services Ltd. in Winnipeg is seeking a Water Damage Technician to respond quickly to incidents, remove water, set up drying equipment, and begin restoring homes and businesses to pre-disaster condition.

You will work hands-on with a team, require physical fitness, attention to detail, and strong English communication. This role includes on-call duties, competitive hourly pay, and extended health coverage; on-site work in Manitoba with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in water damage restoration or construction preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Physically fit with ability to lift and work in tight spaces.
• Willing to wear PPE as required.

You’ll work hands-on to remove water, set up drying equipment, and help restore homes and businesses to their pre-disaster state. Empathy and urgency are key, you’re not just fixing spaces, you’re helping people through one of their most stressful moments.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $19-$24/hour

What You’ll Do

• Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
• Set up and monitor drying equipment
• Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
• Complete restoration tasks
• Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed

What You Bring

• Mechanical aptitude— you can look at something and just know how it works
• Demolition experience- careful, mindful, good housekeeping
• Detail oriented and curious
• Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
• Physically fit— water damage can, at times, include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places
• Tech savviness (capability to learn applications and computer programs as required)
• Interest in cross training in Remediation, Contents Cleaning, Emergency, and helping all teams
• Willing to wear the PPE that is provided for the job, including being clean shaven (if applicable) for half and full-face masks
• Friendly and enjoys working in a team!
• Valid driver’s licence & clean drivers abstract
• Able to successfully satisfy On Side’s criminal record check requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
