Job summary

The City of Guelph is hiring a Licensed Millwright, Wastewater to support the Wastewater Services Division. The position focuses on maintaining and repairing pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and pumping stations.

The successful candidate will hold a Grade 12 Diploma with 4+ years of maintenance experience, a 433A Millwright certificate, and a Wastewater OIT license (or be able to obtain within 6–48 months).

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance technician in water or wastewater settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on pumps, valves, motors, actuators and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and determine repair or replacement actions.
• Coordinate with external contractors and inspect completed work for compliance with standards.
• Respond to equipment failures and diagnose issues to restore operation.
• Support project implementation, startup and commissioning of equipment.
• Maintain the CMMS with work requests, work orders and data entry.
• Perform welding, pipe fitting, rigging and related duties.
• Ensure safety standards and regulations are followed.
