Job summary

The City of London is seeking a Wastewater Control Officer to protect sewer systems and enforce municipal by-laws. You will address complaints, educate the public, issue compliance actions, and coordinate with multiple divisions to safeguard the environment.

This permanent full-time role requires a Diploma in Environmental Technology or equivalent, a valid G-class licence, and on-call availability. Strong reporting, data entry and collaboration with city staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced Community College Diploma in Environmental Technology or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret sewer and stormwater maps and by-laws.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s Licence – Class G and be on-call evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas and investigates contraventions of wastewater and stormwater by-laws.
• Enforces compliance via education, orders, notices or penalties as appropriate.
• prepares correspondence and reports; coordinates with divisions and external agencies.
