Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 education required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar serving position preferred.
• Understanding of food service and preparation is essential.
• Valid BC Foodsafe 1 certificate.
• Valid alcohol serving certificate - preferred.
• Must communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
• Dependable, responsible and able to work in a team and independently.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals in the dining room to residents and guests.
• Maintains proper dietary restrictions and personal preferences for residents.
• Sets dining room tables and clears dishes and utensils.
• Maintains dining area cleanliness and sanitizes equipment.
• Records temperatures and food samples as required and labels appropriately.
• Uses the POS system for guest and resident meals.
• Assists cook with food prep and plate assembly as assigned.
• Follows infection control processes and safety protocols.
• Communicates effectively with residents, guests and staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager.
