Job summary

ALS is seeking a Warehouse Technician 2 to support warehouse functions within the laboratory. Responsibilities include packing for shipments, retrieving samples with a forklift, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will also drive local deliveries and assist with general shipping and receiving.

The role requires a Grade 12 diploma (preferred) and a valid Class 5 license; forklift experience is an asset. This on-site position may involve shift work including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma preferred and clean driving record.
  • Experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving and inventory.
  • Proficient with basic MS Office and data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare packaging for outgoing shipments of pulp samples and rejects.
  • Sort, locate and retrieve samples using forklift and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory control and data entry for pulps and rejects.
  • Delivery and pickup duties and assisting other ALS branches when needed.

At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.About the PositionThe Warehouse Technician 2 will support the warehouse functions within the laboratory.Specific ResponsibilitiesPrepare packaging for outgoing shipments of pulp samples and rejects;Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulp and rejects from the warehouse facility using forklift;Accurate data entry and inventory control of sample rejects, pulps, scan pallets and bins;Assist with inventory control, pulp and reject storage, disposal and return to clients in a timely manner;Ensure sample records and supplies are complete and accurate;Primary driver for local deliveries and pick-ups;Maintains vehicle inspection logs under minimal supervision;Provide inventory count to invoice clients for their pulp and reject storage;Provides assistance to clients and other ALS Branches when necessary;General shipping, receiving and supplies warehousing functions as needed;Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;Other duties as assigned by manager.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly;Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment;Basic understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite);Good English communication skills both written and verbal and ability to read English;Ability to work within a team environment;Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Required QualificationsGrade 12 diploma preferred;Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving history (abstract required);Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required);Warehouse and Shipping & Receiving experience.Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds;Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machinesFrequently wearing a dust mask;Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;Ability to stand for a full shift;Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
