Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant warehouse or materials management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision of the Warehouse team, assigning daily tasks and priorities.
• Make informed decisions to drive efficiencies along the Supply Chain.
• Evaluate and implement opportunities to improve value and mitigate risk across the Supply Chain.
• Improve safety and efficiency of handling, storage, and transport of all goods.
• Apply global warehousing processes and life cycle material management practices.
• Oversee maintenance routines to preserve materials as per local strategies.
• Administer warehouse contracts safely per the CMF.

Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role is currently seven days on, seven days off (7x7). Noting that at some time in the future a nightshift rotation will be required, and at that time the exact shift structure will be advised.

If the incumbent chooses to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site (<90km). BHP offers domestic relocation assistance tosupportthe successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.

Additionally, the successful applicant can reside in the company’s onsite camp, Jansen Discovery Lodge, on a drive in/out basis.

The Challenge Ahead

In this role, you will:

• Provide leadership and supervision of the Warehouse team, by assigning daily tasks and priorities, monitoring productivity and performance and ensuring all activities are executed safely and in line with the company’s procedures.
• Makes informed decisions and recommendations on driving efficiencies along the Supply Chain.
• Evaluates and recommends improvement opportunities and best practices to maximize value and mitigate risk across the Supply Chain.
• Identifies and executes opportunities to improve the safety and efficiency of compliant consignment, loading, and transport of materials, including handling, storage and transport of all goods.
• Employs and refines best practice through enacting global Warehousing processes and procedures regarding storage methods that enable stock rotation, preservation, and life cycle material management.
• Facilitates the inspections and implements improvements of maintenance routines to ensure material preservation, as informed by relevant local strategies .
• Independently and safely administers contracts in the warehouses according to best practice as informed by the BHP Contract Management Framework (CMF).
• Applies knowledge of the interconnectivity and detailed design of the logistics network to ensure and improve materials availability to customer.
• Ensures logistics and haulage activities are performed safely and optimizes processes in line with local regulatory requirements.
• Facilitates regular opportunities (e.g. pre-start briefings, team meetings) for teams to discuss risk, share lessons learned and improve risk management or operational practices.
• Works in collaboration with risk business partners and site leadership to use the Risk Framework to effectively monitor and treat risk.
• Identifies and implements solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of controls, internal standards and assurance activities.
• Builds and balances the capability composition of the team by coaching, providing on‑time feedback and leveraging strengths within the team to build capability in others.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in a Warehouse, Construction or Materials Management capacity.
• Sound understanding of inventory control, logistics and procurement experience, preferably in the Potash and Mining Industry.
• Experience using a MRP system to manage inventory, preferably SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead teams.
• Awareness of Dangerous Goods storage, handling and transport requirements.
