UNFI in Concord, Ontario is seeking a Warehouse Picker to operate Walkie Rider and Pallet Jack equipment, select customer orders, and build secure pallets for loading. The role requires standing for long periods in cool environments and following safety policies to ensure accurate, efficient order fulfillment.

The position offers an afternoon shift (Sunday to Thursday, 3:00 PM–12:15 AM) with benefits described in the posting and potential for wage progression.

Formación

• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Able to stand for extended periods in a cool/damp environment.
• Certified to operate pallet jack/walkie rider or in training to obtain certification.

Responsabilidades

• Operate a Walkie Rider/Electric Pallet Jack to pick, secure, and load orders.
• Build stable pallets that are well secured for transport.
• Label and number pallets to ensure proper put-away or delivery.
• Place completed pallets into freezer, loading area, or truck as required.
• Assist with loading trucks in a safe manner.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping and removing trash.
• Adhere to all safety policies and wear PPE as required.

Job Overview

Responsible for picking customers inside a warehouse environment and completing picking in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Operates machinery including a Walkie Rider to pick customer orders.

Location: 8755 Keele Street, Concord, Ontario

Afternoon Shift/Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 3:00 PM-12:15 AM (43.75 hours per week)

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a Walkie Rider/Electric Pallet Jack to pick, secure, and load orders.
• Build stable and well-secured pallets.
• Label pallets and number the pallets correctly to ensure proper put-away or delivery.
• Place each completed pallets into freezer, loading area and/or truck as required.
• Assist safely with loading trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping, removing trash as needed.
• Sort, sticker and repack individual pieces appropriately.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Performs all other job duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• Pallet Jack/Walkie Rider certification considered an asset.

Experience

• At least one (1) year previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Able to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time in a cool, damp environment.
• Certified to operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jack/walkie rider.

Skills & Abilities

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Able to work in different temperature environments including dry, cooler, and freezer (-20c).
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to safe operate walkie rider/electric pallet jacks
• Able to follow instructions (written/oral)
• Able to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• High regard for safety.

• Steel-toed shoes required
