Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Calgary, AB, is seeking a Commercial Driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle between pick-up and destination terminals, ensuring trips are run safely, efficiently and in compliance with company and DOT regulations.

The role is full-time with Monday–Friday shifts, wage of 26.56 CAD per hour, and driving hours from 5:15am–3:00pm or 7:00am–5:00pm. Ryder offers 10 days PTO, benefits after 30 days, a defined contribution pension, RRSP and DPSP, and employee stock discounts.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum 9 months verifiable commercial driving experience required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Essential Functions

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions, required
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures Important, required
• Must have a Class 3 drivers license with a clean abstract
