Job summary

Nippon Express Canada Ltd. Montreal Branch is seeking a Warehouse/CFS Coordinator to join our team. The role covers forklift operation, loading/unloading, inventory control, and coordinating cargo with carriers, in compliance with company policies.

Based in Montreal, you will support multiple departments, maintain 5S Warehouse practices, and provide accurate communication with customers and sub-contractors. A college diploma and forklift license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience in general warehousing and forklift
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, AS400 and general computer skills
  • Ability to physically handle items up to 55 lbs
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Bilingual communication in French and English

Responsibilities

  • Fork Lift operation and all tasks that are associated with it
  • Load/unload cargo from various types of transportation including trucks, trailers, containers etc.
  • Manual offloading cargo from containers, airline pallets, trailers etc.
  • Measure, weight, and physically count products
  • Check-in cargo received by air/ocean into company system
  • Pack and re-pack of shipments for freight going out
  • Household goods moving and packing at customer’s site and warehouse
  • Distribution/warehouse monthly inventory using company system tool/software
  • Billing customer for warehouse storage and truck delivery
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, objectives, safety and business ethics
  • Practice safe warehouse procedures, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements where necessary
  • Maintain warehouse in a neat, orderly and efficient fashion - 5S to be practiced daily
  • Oversee warehouse Inventory and supplies
  • Prompt and accurate communication with customers, external branches and sub-contractors
  • Occasional delivery and pick-up cargos by company vehicles
  • Report any work-related injuries or accidents to Supervisor/Manager
  • Various other duties as may be required

Job Summary

The warehouse/CFS coordinator is responsible for both warehouse and CFS duties. Duties include but are not limited to fork lift operation, packing, container unloading/loading, block & brace, cargo check-in on computer system, storage inventory management, arranging cargo delivery with carriers and some pick-up and delivery while following company policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include ensuing accuracy, compliance and providing support to all departments within the Montreal Branch.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fork Lift operation and all tasks that are associated with it
  • Load/unload cargo from various types of transportation including trucks, trailers, containers etc.

  • Oversee warehouse Inventory and supplies
  • Prompt and accurate communication with customers, external branches and sub-contractors.
  • Occasional delivery and pick-up cargos by company vehicles which
  • would include the airlines warehouse
  • Report any work-related injuries or accidents to Supervisor/Manager
  • Various other duties as may be required
Qualifications/Competencies
  • 1-3 years experience in general warehousing and Fork lift
  • Proficient with computer programs – Excel, Word, AS400 and general computer skills
  • Ability to physically handle items of variable weight up to and including 55 lbs
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to learn, use, and convey required information to clients and related party.
  • Background in Air and Ocean freight an asset
  • Knowledge of warehouse documentation, including RNS, bonded freight and airline documentation an asset
  • Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Some geographic knowledge of city for deliveries and pickups
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
Education/Certification:
  • Minimum College diploma or equivalency certificate and/or relevant working experience.
  • Fork Lift license
  • Transport of Dangerous Goods certificate an asset
  • Authorized cargo representative certification (ACR) an asset
  • Work station in warehouse
  • Some exposure to warehouse noisy environment
  • Exposure to outside elements when driving company vehicles
  • Some stress related to conflicting demands, deadlines and prioritization of tasks
  • Exposure to DG in the warehouse
  • Exposure to battery acid when driving and doing circle checks daily on the electric forklifts
  • May have exposure of packing heavy item
