Job summary

Sonepar Canada, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support overall warehouse operations, focusing on wire and cable cutting. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately cutting, spooling, and preparing wire and cable orders for shipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

• Perform basic mathematical calculations to complete assigned tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Wrap, tie, and place material on reels.
• Sort and place materials on racks.
• Use and adjust machinery to measure lengths of wire to meet customer specifications.
• Feed and thread wire and cable through machinery.
• Complete pre-start safety inspection before using any machinery or equipment.
• Record count and length information on tags or boxes.
• Responsible for carrying out any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.

Scope of the position

The Warehouse Associate supports overall warehouse operations with a primary focus on wire and cable cutting. This role is responsible for accurately cutting, spooling, packing, and preparing wire and cable orders for shipment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. A key function of this position includes operating machinery to spool and cut wire and cable of various sizes and weights to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Wrap, tie, and place material on reels.
• Sort and place materials on racks.
• Use and adjust machinery to measure lengths of wire to meet customer specifications.
• Feed and thread wire and cable through machinery.
• Complete pre‑start safety inspection before using any machinery or equipment.
• Record count and length information on tags or boxes.
• Responsible for carrying out any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to complete assigned tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Wire Cutting experience is considered an asset.
• Prior experience operating Reach and Counterbalance forklifts is preferred; however, candidates must be willing to receive training on these machines.
