Job summary

Kaycan, based in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join the team on-site. The role reports to the Warehouse Team Lead and focuses on picking, packing, loading/unloading, and maintaining safety in a fast-paced distribution environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years in warehousing or customer service, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience that provides working knowledge of distribution activities.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in warehouse/distribution and/or customer service-related activities.
  • Forklift certification is an asset (the employer is willing to train the right candidate)
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with customers and personnel.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Stamina – able to lift heavy items (more than 50lbs) for extended periods and perform repetitive physical work, including bending, lifting & avoiding.
  • Punctual, dependable, and possess an excellent work ethic and a positive attitude. Attention to detail is essential for accurately identifying and handling items, descriptions and quantities.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick, pack, and process orders for timely shipment.
  • Pick customer orders for shipment and ensure accuracy by picking the correct number and type of product.
  • Compare internal orders with packing lists. Verifying/Receiving/inspecting and signing for shipment and courier deliveries.
  • Unpack, inspect, sort and put stock away in appropriate locations.
  • Load and unload trailers and operate material handling equipment such as forklift or pallet jacks.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts, maintain and organize inventory, ensure stock is in the correct location while keeping the warehouse clean and safe.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor regarding low stock items, and document and report any damage or deficiencies immediately.
  • Ensure the proper use of PPE and always adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain safety compliance when operating material handling equipment, perform daily inspection of forklift prior to use, and report any unsafe work conditions that may arise.
  • Complete other warehouse duties as required

Reporting to Warehouse Team Lead, a Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking and pulling customer orders as assigned, loading and unloading product trucks, as well as performing warehouse organization duties while providing exceptional customer service.
