Job summary

Canadian Hospital Specialties Ltd. in Burlington seeks a Warehouse Associate to manage shipping and receiving, unload trailers, verify inbound paperwork, and prepare orders for shipment. You will work with our WMS, maintain clean warehouses, and report safety issues to management.

The role requires English proficiency, RF scanner knowledge, forklift operation and certification. Shift is 2:30 pm–11 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekend availability required.

Qualifications

  • Preferred High School Diploma and/or experience in warehousing and material handling.
  • Must be proficient in written & spoken English.
  • RF scanner knowledge required.
  • Experience operating forklift truck, power-walkie and pump truck is required; Raymond Reach forklift is an asset.
  • Must have or be able to complete forklift driver’s certification immediately upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Unload trailers, review documentation and perform a visual inspection on receipts.
  • Verify inbound quantities against vendor paperwork and report discrepancies.
  • Pick and prepare customer orders for shipping.
  • Prepare and stage product for shipment and load the trailer.
  • Prepare and verify outbound documentation as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of warehouse areas and operate within CHS policies.
  • Use the automated WMS system and communicate with Supervisors/Managers.
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor/Manager as required and perform other duties.

Job description

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager, the Warehouse Associate handles all shipping and receiving functions in compliance with CHS policies and practices.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unload trailers, review documentation and perform a visual inspection on all receipts.
  • Verify inbound quantities against vendor supplied paperwork, and report any discrepancies to the Supervisor.
  • Pick and prepare all customer orders for shipping.
  • Prepare and stage the appropriate product for shipment and load the trailer.
  • Prepare and verify all outbound documentation as required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse areas.
  • Carrying out responsibilities using our automated WMS
  • Ensure compliance to all company policies/practices and reports all unsafe activities, procedures, or conditions to a Manager or Health and Safety Representative.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager as required.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Preferred High School Diploma and/or experience in a mid-sized company with warehousing and material handling skills.
  • Must be proficient in written & spoken English.
  • RF scanner knowledge required.
  • Experience in the operation of forklift truck, power-walkie and pump truck is required. Raymond Reach forklift experience is an asset
  • Must have or be able to successfully complete forklift driver’s certification immediately upon hire.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must be proficient in written & spoken English.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Operating knowledge of personal computer and printers.
  • Must have the skills and ability to keep all lines of communication open with Supervisors, Managers, and co-workers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • The majority of the time will be spent in the warehouse and mezzanine areas.
  • Other time will be spent in office and warehouse environments.
  • Safety devices such as glasses, earplugs and safety shoes must be worn where required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The physical requirements are standing, walking, climbing, and sitting, with 90% of working hours spent in the warehouse and mezzanine areas. This position also requires the ability to reach, grasp, bend and flex arms, legs, wrists and fingers, and should be comfortable lifting 40 – 55 lbs.

Shift Schedule - 2:30 pm - 11pm, Monday-Friday. Weekends availability required

Pay Rate - $26.23 per hour
