Job summary

UPS is seeking a Warehouse Associate at our Ajax, Ontario site. The role is part-time and permanent, focused on sorting/stocking packages and loading/unloading them into UPS delivery vehicles and trailers.

Expect early hours with a 3-5 hour daily shift and a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include learning UPS handling methods, efficient sorting by postal codes, and maintaining safe, productive operations.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs (35 kg) safely.
• Available Monday to Saturday with flexible start times.
• Able to read and memorize postal codes.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles.
• Warehouse experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

Workdays

Monday to Friday - 4:00am to 9:00am

Shift Duration

3-5 hours per day * (Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times).

All Applicants must work a minimum 25 hrs/ week

Responsibilities And Duties

• Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers

• Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35kg)
• Full availability to work Monday to Saturday
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
• Warehouse experience (would be considered an asset)

Compensation And Benefits

• $18.50/hr. / automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement.
• Unionized position with automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate of $36.53/hr. after 48 months of service
• Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester (subject to eligibility, program approval, and satisfactory academic performance)

• Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit- Every Friday

Expenses/Working Conditions

Monthly union dues (approximately $52/month) A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS)
