Job summary

Wilsonart LLC in Calgary is hiring a Warehouse Assistant I to replenish finished goods, pick and pack orders, and support inventory accuracy in our busy warehouse.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year warehouse experience, ability to lift heavy items (>50 lbs), operate a lift truck and read customer orders; this is a full-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Fills customer orders, inspects material and packs material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.# ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors* Checks and places materials in the correct bin* Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies* Informs supervisor of defective materials* Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders* Reads, interprets, processes and packs orders* Performs total skid count for loads* Assists the needs of the customer# KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Ability to learn computers sufficient to check inventories* Ability to learn materials inventoried* Ability to learn packing techniques* Ability to learn proper material handling techniques* Ability to understand and follow directions* Ability to work independently* Ability to drive a lift truck* Ability to read and understand customer orders* Ability to operate a table saw* Ability to enter data at an acceptable speed# MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**EDUCATION:**High School Graduate or GED**EXPERIENCE:**1+ years of relevant warehouse experience# WORKING CONDITIONS**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS**ENVIRONMENT:** Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staffThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
